This Grenache from the Chapoutier Landsborough site was picked on March 13. The early picktime lended a hightoned red plum and rosewater aroma as well as capturing a refreshing acid line. 85% destemmed / 15% whole cluster - Gentle hand plunging preserved the whole cluster structure throughout fermentation which created the perfect environment for a successful carbonic layer which is present in this nouveau style wine. The tannin is crunchy and youthful. A small addition of homeblock syrah was made post fermentation which weaved a warm layer of spice into the finished wine.
